Osborne Clarke (OC) has promoted four lawyers to its partnership, with partners made up at its London and Cologne offices – but none at its Bristol headquarters.

The southwest heavyweight announced its latest round of promotions today (6 May), with corporate lawyer Simon Smith and real estate specialist John Baird getting the nod in the City.

The firm’s Cologne branch also receives two promotions, with Gerd Hoor being made up in corporate alongside the only new female partner, employment lawyer Annabel Lehnen.

All the promotions are effective from 1 May and bring the firm’s total partnership to 113.

Commenting on the news, Osborne Clarke managing partner Simon Beswick said: “The promotions reflect our commitment to growing our business internationally and in the UK, as well as demonstrating our commitment to strengthening our offering in the City. I believe we have created a great platform from which we can continue to build as we head into the new financial year.”

The news comes after rival southwest firm Burges Salmon last month announced that it was making up half a dozen new partners.

Other major regional firms to unveil their promotions in recent weeks include Manchester’s Pannone, which promoted nine, and Beachcroft, which made up six new partners.
