Brown Rudnick has bolstered its London transactional capability with the hire of a senior partner from City firm Nabarro.

Roger Gregory, who headed up the top 30 UK firm's private equity practice, joins the US firm's City corporate team as a partner.

Gregory, who focuses on advising institutional investors, management teams and buy-out houses, joined Nabarro's corporate team in 2002 as a partner from Barlow Lyde & Gilbert.

His hire means Brown Rudnick now has 13 partners based at its London office.

Commenting on the appointment, Brown Rudnick London managing partner Scott Burns said: “This planned growth has enabled us to build vibrant and sustainable European practices across corporate and venture capital; private equity; insolvency and corporate restructuring; and litigation."

He added: “The addition of Roger is evidence of our success, and we all look forward to having him as a member of our London team.”

Earlier this year Brown Rudnick added insolvency lawyer Louise Verrill to its bankruptcy and restructuring practice as a partner from national giant Addleshaw Goddard.

Meanwhile, two associates - James Shaw and Adrian Yeadle - were bumped up to partner in the corporate and securities practice in the firm's latest round of internal promotions.
