Mishcon de Reya has made up two lawyers to its partnership, it was announced last week (25 April).

The new appointments, which are effective from 1 May, will bring Mishcons’ total partnership to 57. The appointments fall short of last year’s round of promotions, when the City firm made up five new partners.

The family and real estate departments were the beneficiaries from this year’s appointments, with family specialist Melissa Lesson and property lawyer John England both getting the nod.

Commenting on the promotions, Mishcons managing partner Kevin Gold (pictured) said: “The additions to the partnership reflect the outstanding contribution of these solicitors, both to their individual departments and to the continuing growth of the firm as a whole.”

Mishcons becomes the latest City practice to announce its 2008 partnership round, with firms including LG and SJ Berwin among those to unveil their promotions last week, making up five and eight new partners respectively.

Last week City giant Linklaters promoted 28 new partners, including seven at its London headquarters.
