Norton Rose has hire a new corporate partner for its Singapore office. Adam Summerly joins the City giant from the local arm of US firm Duane Morris, where he was also a partner.

Summerly specialises in sectors including telecommunications and oil and gas, having focused on cross-border work in markets including Indonesia, Malaysia and Vietnam.

The appointment comes after Singapore-based corporate finance partner Chris Moore left Norton Rose in January to return to former firm Allen & Overy.

Commenting on his move, Summerly said: “I was attracted to the practice by its excellent reputation in South East Asia, which is a rapidly growing market. The Norton Rose Singapore office… is regarded as one of the strongest practice groups in the region.”

Norton Rose Asia chief David Stannard added: “We are committed to growing our business in South East Asia through our practice in Singapore. Adam brings to the practice an intimate knowledge of the region and expertise in corporate finance which is a key practice area for this office.”

Norton Rose has around 100 lawyers in South East Asia, operating across offices in Bangkok, Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong, as well as Singapore. Last year the firm announced plans to further expand its Asian network by launching a new office in Tokyo.
