Dundas & Wilson has made up half a dozen lawyers to its partnership, the big four Scots firm announced today (2 April).

The new appointments, which are effective from 1 May and match last year’s total of six, grow the Scots leader’s all-equity partnership to 86. The firm’s London and Edinburgh offices each received three new partners, with Glasgow missing out altogether.

Corporate was the main beneficiary by practice area, with the trio of Douglas Land, Greig Williamson and Stuart MacLean all promoted in the transactional team. Alan Fulton and Michael Wrigley are made up in banking, while real estate lawyer Nick Padget also gets the nod.

Commenting on the news, Dundas & Wilson chairman Michael McAuley said: “These well-deserved promotions not only reflect a tremendous amount of hard work and commitment from the individuals concerned, but they also highlight our own commitment to continue to grow our corporate, financial and real estate offering.”

He added: “This year has been a very encouraging one for us and I’m confident that these talented lawyers will help us go from strength to strength in their new roles.”

Dundas joins firms including Pinsent Masons and Wragge & Co in having announced their 2008 partner promotions, with the UK duo making up 17 and nine to their partnerships respectively.

Offshore giant Appleby also announced its promotions today, making up seven new partners.
