McDermott Will & Emery has appointed a new managing partner for its City arm, with Doron Ezickson in line to succeed the outgoing David Dalgarno.

Dalgarno, who served as London office head for four years, will be replaced by Doron Ezickson on March 31. Ezickson, who relocated from Boston to London two years ago, will also head up the firm’s European practice, as well as remaining co-head of the firm’s international energy group.

Dalgarno will remain at the firm and will continue to serve on the firm’s management committee.

Ezickson has held a number of management positions with McDermott since he joined 14 years ago, including five years as Boston office head as well as serving on the firm’s management and executive committees.

He said: “David has laid a tremendous platform for growth for the London office having guided the office successfully for the last four years and to record financial results last year. By combining the role of London office head with that of the head of European practice, my focus will be to continue to drive cross-border collaboration and expand our European network.”

Mcdermott has been rebuilding its London offices following a stream of partner losses. Notable departures include employment head Fraser Younson, who moved to Berwin Leighton Paisner, intellectual property head Larry Cohen, who joined Latham & Watkins, and litigator and former managing partner John Reynolds, who joined White & Case.

Earlier this year the firm announced it had hired Lovells corporate veteran Hugh Nineham to head its London and European corporate practice.
