Camerons informed its partners this morning (12 February) that the nine CMS member firms had all voted in favour of closer integration and alignment.
Outgoing Camerons managing partner Dick Tyler is set to take on the role of CMS executive partner to spearhead the initiative.
Under the convergence programme the CMS firms will be developing common standards and procedures including a new conflicts policy. The CMS firms will continue to operate as separate legal entities under their existing names but more emphasis will be placed on the CMS brand.
CMS says its referral work has grown by nearly 30% since the network was established in 1999, contributing to a combined fee income in 2007 of nearly €750m (£559m).
