The merger, announced today (21 January), will see the team added to Eversheds’ real estate planning group, enabling the top 10 UK law firm to promote and introduce private bills through Parliament for the first time.
Monica Peto, Joe Durkin and Stephen Collings all join Eversheds as partners. They are accompanied by their team of three parliamentary clerks and two solicitors, plus a single trainee.

Commenting on the move, Eversheds London senior partner Cornelius Medvei said: “Rees & Freres’ parliamentary team [has] a market-leading reputation as parliamentary agents, particularly in the field of transport and infrastructure.”
Medvei, who heads up Eversheds’ transport sector group, added: “I believe the combination of their skills and reputation with the existing strengths of Eversheds in relation to the transport sector and to infrastructure projects generally will deliver huge benefits for clients of both firms as we merge.”
