SRA research highlights consumer dissatisfaction

Consumers think solicitors are not properly regulated, according to research by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA). The SRA says consumers believe that solicitors are less regulated than other sectors and many feel alienated by the use of jargon. It says there is dissatisfaction about fees charged, exacerbated
by the fact consumers felt there was a lack of transparency around charging structures. Consumers also have only limited awareness of the roles of the SRA and the Legal Complaints Service.
