The shake-up has seen the City firm appoint new leaders to three of its five departments.
The eye-catching changes see media communications and technology head David Zeffman replaced by Michael Burdon, who also leads the intellectual property (IP) and life sciences sectors. Zeffman continues as head of the gambling team.
In corporate, private equity head Fabrizio Carpanini (pictured) takes over as overall department head from Tony Leifer, who is now in charge of the firm’s publishing sector group.
Moni Mannings (pictured) will continue as head of finance, although the department has been taken out of the corporate group and will now stand as a department in its own right.
Catherine Taylor was re-elected as head of the litigation group, but has since stepped down due to personal reasons, with Martin Davies stepping into her shoes to lead the practice. Elsewhere, Tim Westhead will continue as the firm’s head of real estate.
The firm’s other teams — employment, competition, IP and tax — are all subsidiaries of larger departments.
Each of the new heads stood unopposed in an election during the summer. They will take the helm for three years, although there is no limit to the number of terms a group head may serve.
The elections underline a period of change for the media-focused firm, which has revamped a number of high-level committees since chief executive Jonathan Goldstein left the firm.
In May, David Stewart was voted in as managing partner, former chief operating office Kevin Munslow became chief executive, with Mark Devereaux remaining in his post as senior partner.
A new strategy board was also created, which will oversee areas including a newly-appointed international team.
