Hunton & Williams has boosted its City arm after poaching rated Simmons & Simmons outsourcing partner Peter Brudenall, the US law firm announced today (17 September).

Brudenall, who is both UK and Australian-qualified, joins Hunton’s global technology and outsourcing practice in London, where he will work alongside fellow outsourcing partner Bridget Treacy.

Brudenall joined Simmons as a senior solicitor in 2001 from the Sydney office of Baker & McKenzie.

Previous deals on which he has worked include advising Tata Consultancy Services on its role in the massive National Health Service National Programme for IT as well as acting on behalf of the Immigration & Nationality Directorate on its £250m IT outsourcing to Atos Origin.

Commenting on the appointment, Hunton technology global co-head James Harvey said: “Peter’s extensive experience in India and other critical sourcing destinations adds significant depth and breadth to our menu of services, whether our clients are acquiring or providing services, establishing a captive or expanding their operations globally.”

The news comes after Hunton earlier this month added senior European Commission competition official Robert Klotz as a partner in Brussels.
