Macfarlanes keeps City pace with NQ pay boost

Macfarlanes has increased its rates for newly-qualified (NQ) lawyers in line with the rest of the City. The firm has pushed its NQ rate up to £64,000, putting it on a par with the majority of City firms but marginally behind Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and Allen & Overy, which pay £65,000. Macfarlanes will now pay its one-year qualified lawyers £70,000, two-year qualifieds £77,000 and three-year qualifieds £85,000.
