Fieldfisher continues global expansion with office launch in Luxembourg

Fieldfisher has launched in Luxembourg as the firm continues to expand in Europe following its move into Frankfurt last month.

The new Luxembourg base will be led by Ingrid Dubourdieu, who joins as country managing partner from local firm D.Law, where she spent five years as a partner.

The office will initially focus on finance and funds, but it is expected to expand into corporate, M&A and tax. Dubourdieu is joining with two associates, and discussions are currently taking place with regards to further hires.

Fieldfisher’s funds practice now covers London, Paris and Luxembourg, and the firm is also set to launch a funds practice in its new Frankfurt office, which opened last month.

Managing partner Michael Chissick said: “Financial services is one of our fastest-growing and most successful practices, and the addition of Ingrid and her team in Luxembourg has been much anticipated. The new office means that we now have a presence in all of continental Europe’s most important financial centres.”

Last month’s Frankfurt launch was accompanied by the hire of Norton Rose Fulbright finance partner Ruediger Litten, who made the move alongside Thilo Danz and Kai Krueger, who both joined as partners. Krueger specialises in corporate and energy, while Danz focuses on financial regulationn.

The firm now has a total of 20 offices globally, with other recent openings including Netherlands in May last year.

In November 2017, the firm opened in China with the launch of an office in Beijing, followed by a move into Shanghai earlier this month, while Last July it also merged with Italian firm SASPI, taking on four offices across Italy.
